“Walk With Us”
Annual Dinner and Auction
Our Annual Dinner and Auction was held on May 9th at The Venue in Lenoir City. The event speakers were Mike Ragsdale and Dawn Johnson. Both Mike and Dawn spoke of “hope” and how the Child Advocacy Center offers hope to victims of child abuse and their non-offending caregivers. Dr. Peter Stimpson donated a red and white wine to each table for pairing with our dinner entrées. He spoke about where the wines originated and the type of grapes that were used to produce the wine. Marty Fugate was our entertaining live Auctioneer and auctioned off two trips, a UT Tailgate package valued at $500, one 3 night and 4 day stay in a cabin in the Smoky Mountains , a special night of cooking with Chef Christian of “Century Harvest Farms”, a football autographed by Josh Dobbs, and two autographed baseballs by UT Grads and Professional Baseball players: Todd Helton and Luke Hochevar. Our silent auction included various baskets from gracious donors and in keeping with the theme, “Walk With Us”, Janice Carrison led a group of volunteers to decorate every centerpiece which was made of shoes, flowers, plants and fun garden figurines. Meadowview Nursery provided the workspace, flowers, plants and fun garden figurines, thanks Lisa and Rodney! We would like to thank everyone who donated items, gave of their time, gave monetary donations, and those that attended our event. We appreciate each and every one of you making it possible for us to “heal the pain of child abuse.”
Back to School Bash!
We held our annual Back-to-School Bash at the Child Advocacy Center on July 26, 2018. Once again it was a very successful event in which we handed out approximately 40 backpacks to our therapy clients and their siblings. For the kid’s entertainment we had a bouncy slide, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, pizza and desert. We also were joined by the Loudon County Sheriff Department’s K-9 Unit and their handlers. The kids, parents and staff really enjoyed meeting and petting the K-9’s. We were very grateful to them for volunteering their time to come to our event. We would also like to thank The Loudon County United Way for their generous donation of school supplies. Thanks goes to Oral Baptist Church who also generously provided school supplies and volunteers to stuff the backpacks with the school supplies. We were also extremely grateful for the monetary donations that were received which assisted us in buying the school supplies we still needed our list. If you didn’t have the opportunity to donate and wish to do so, feel free to mail your donation to us at the CAC, P.O. Box 928, Lenoir City, TN 37771, or even drop by to visit us at 887 W Hwy 70, Lenoir City, TN 37771. Your donation is tax-deductible. All donations are greatly appreciated! Throughout the year we acquire therapy kids who are in need of backpacks and school supplies, therefore we can always use the donations! Thank you once again to all those who helped make our Back-to-School Bash a success!
